Write for Gathered Well
Gathered Well is built to be filled by the community, which means you. This is where our voices live: honest reflections, hard-won insight, the things we are learning and the things we want to pass on.
If you have something to say, we want it here. Your name stays on your work, we link back to you, and your insight reaches a growing community of Black mental health professionals. We rise together.
Details + Benefits
-
When you write for Gathered Well, your voice reaches people who actually need it, and your work travels with it. Your piece lives here with your name on it and links straight back to your website, your Substack, your practice, wherever you want people to find you.
That link does real work. Readers follow it to you, and it helps both of us get found online. You share what you know, the community grows, and your name grows with it.
-

-
Contributors may be clinicians, associates, supervisors, educators, advocates, researchers, wellness practitioners, and other professionals whose work supports Black clinician care, accessibility, professional development, and community well-being.
You do not have to be a polished writer. You just have to have something worth sharing.
-
Writing that is useful, grounded, accessible, and made with care. We are especially drawn to:
Practical California guidance for this work
Professional experiences that usually go unspoken
Disability and accommodation information
Collective care, and how we actually practice it
Culturally responsive practice
Resources that help clinicians move through their careers without having to figure it all out alone
Reflections on rest, joy, culture, and the human side of this field

Editorial guidelines
Write in your own voice. We would rather hear you than a textbook.
Keep it useful and grounded, insight people can hold onto.
Protect confidentiality. Never share client names or identifying details.
Make it yours. Original work only, and credit any sources you lean on.
Keep it accessible. Short paragraphs, plain language, room to breathe.
Length is flexible. A short reflection or a longer piece are both welcome.
We may do light editing for clarity, and we will always run meaningful changes by you before anything goes live.
